Discovery
During the months of fall I worked on a Fine Art project about the learning process and curiosity of a child. It was both a very challenging and rewarding project for me and I absolutely loved every minute of it. Shooting medium format with a very energetic subject isn't easy, but that is also the reason I loved the challenge. Here's a selection of some of the final images that were displayed in a gallery at the SCERA Center in Orem this last month. Hopefully we can all remember how sometimes it's the simplest things in life that can bring us the most joy.

Opportunity...
Last week I had an amazing opportunity to meet Keith Carter. I have been studying a lot of his work and he is definitely one of my favorite photographers as of late. Some of us lucky BFA students got to attend a dinner with him before his lecture at BYU. After he dished up his food, he sat right next to me. Delightful is word I would choose to describe him; it was great to listen to his stories and hear more about his methods.
During his lecture he said, " The full weight and mystery of art rests upon your relationship to your subject matter". This has been on my mind since- helping me think more about my choice of subject matter- but most importantly, why.
WHY
It has come up so much lately and I'm finally facing the word with more certainty. Speaking on the opposite of certainty, Keith also said to make friends with uncertainty. I love that thought.
Thank Keith. It was great to meet you.

The Evans
The Evans family and I had a great time taking family photos and playing in the foothills. They are such a cute family, we had a blast!
We had to get one of Grandma with the little ones!
